Martha B. Alimi is a PhD candidate in theology at Boston University’s School of Theology. She studies the intersection between theology and music, holding Masters degrees in religion and music from Yale Divinity School with the Institute of Sacred Music, and in historical musicology from the University of Connecticut. Her undergraduate degree is from Mount Holyoke College with a double major in music and classics. She has a passion for liturgy and has served as the music director, organist, pianist, and/or choir director at multiple churches. When she is not working on her dissertation on Hildegard of Bingen, Martha enjoys playing music, reading, hiking, and especially spending time with her husband, Toni.
