Learning to Practice the Way of Jesus

"Follow me..."

Jesus began his public ministry with an invitation to a few very ordinary people:  "Follow me" (Mark 1:17).   They did follow him, and as they did their lives were transformed.  They became different people - not utterly different, to be sure, but deeper, wiser, and increasingly more alive to the reality that Jesus called "the kingdom of God."

It is not different for the disciples of Jesus today.  We learn what Jesus offers by following him.  This process takes the whole of a human life - both in its duration and in the totality of its parts.  At Bread of Life, we seek to learn who Jesus is and what kind of life he offers in the kingdom of God by engaging in practices of prayer, study, self-giving service, and spiritual fellowship that draw us more fully into the life of God.
